Project day 19 - 21; Three Irish crochet motifs

Irish crochet project...

I will make 3 flower motifs, for my upcoming item I want to crochet.  I read these patterns in a diagram from  here.
It is going to be hopefully a beautiful girls headscarf, perfect for spring / summer.
I made one today in simple shell pattern, and absolutely loved it.
Thought maybe I can glam it up a bit, and make one in Irish crochet style.
That way I get 2 things done, continue with my promise on making a flower motif pattern a day, and creating a new crochet item, for my collection.

Materials:

Hook 1.75 mm
Patons 100% 4 ply cotton
scissors
tapestry needle

Stitches used:

Ch - chain
Sc - single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Dc - double crochet
Sl st - slip stitch

Motif number 1

Rnd 1: Ch 9, sl st.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc,

2hdc, 2dc, 2 hdc,

sc in the ring, sl st, fasten off. Sew in the thread using tapestry needle.

 Motif number 2.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 14 sc in the ring, sl st

Rnd 3: Ch 4, sc in the 3rd stitch, ch 4, sc in the 3rd st and so on all around, until you have 5 arches, sl st in the first ch from the beginning.

Rnd 4: Sc, hdc, 5dc,hdc, sc in the first arch

and so on until you have 5 petals, fasten off. Sew in the end of the thread.

Motif number 3

Rnd 1: Ch 10

Rnd 2: sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc, in next st,

hdc in next 2 sts,

4 dc in next 4 sts,

5 dc in last st,

continue working on the other side now, 2 dc in next st, repeat for next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc, in last 2 sts, sl st, fasten off.

To make this leaf curve on the oppossite side follow this:
Rnd 1: Ch 10,
Rnd 2:  sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat 3 times, 5 dc in last st, working now on the opposite side, dc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts, sl st fasten off.
So these are the 3 motifs I am gonna use for my Irish crochet project, next time, I should have a ready product and shuld be able to share the pictures.
Hope you could use some of these motifs, fo your crochet projects.

Day 10 - Irish crochet flower motif

Twelve petal crochet flower motif.

Hello everyone, who has joined me to create some more crochet flowers.
I use online diagrams to make most of the crochet flower patterns. Some people cant read diagrams, so this way, it makes it easier for them to make flower or crochet motif they want. My aim is to make at least one crochet flower pattern per day. I want to see how far I can get, before I ran out of all the flower patterns. However recently I had internet issues, will be back online properly at the beginning of may, and I will posts all the missing flower patterns in one go.

Some crochet flower patterns will be used without any other online patterns, but could be similar or adjusted to the other or same flower or motif patterns.

This pattern has been followed the diagram.
Perfect for those Irish crochet project.

Materials used:
Hook 1.75m
Scissors,
Patons  100% 4 ply cotton yarn

Stitches used:
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Dc – double crochet
Tr – treble crochet
Sl st – slip stitch

Rnd 1: Ch 12, sl st

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 23 sc in the ring, sl st (24 sts)

Rnd 3: Ch 4 , tr in net st and so all around sl st. ( 24 Sts)

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in between the chain and tr st, sc in next st which is tr, sc in between the st and so all around, sl st( 48st)

Rnd 5: Ch 1, 8 dc in 2nd st, sc in 2nd st,

8dc in 2nd st and so on until you have 12 petals, sl st, fasten off.

Why not use more colours to make that motif stand out.

Experiment with many different ways.

This is a beautiful motif, perfect for making a lovely dress, if its in cotton, or maybe gorgeous blanket, if using double knit yarn .
Enjoy.
